Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To receive updates regarding worship service and scheduled activities text the word “Sunday” to 682-204-2323.
Amid concerns surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to let you know how the Mount Olive Baptist Church is responding.
Our leadership team is carefully and continually monitoring this situation. As information evolves, this page is the primary, most up-to-date place for you to receive answers as to how the church is responding to the recent outbreak. We are committed to doing everything we can to provide a safe environment for our church family and the surrounding community.
Sunday services will be viewed via Livestream, Facebook Live, and YouTube. This includes the Early Service at 7:45 a.m. and the Mid-Day service at 10:25 a.m. We would ask that you would refrain from coming to the building but please take advantage of our Livestream and online giving services at this time. The Senior Bible Study class will broadcast from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. via Livestream, Facebook and YouTube. The Wednesday Evening Prayer and Worship service will broadcast at 6:30 p.m. via Livestream, Facebook and YouTube.
If you have a need, please call the church and leave a message. Someone will contact you to help you in your hour of need. All weekly activities have been canceled until further notice.
Arlington New Beginnings will operate in accordance with their normal business hours. Water From The Rock will be closed at the end of day Friday, March 20 until further notice. The Mount Olive Baptist Church Federal Credit Union will conduct business through the drive thru only. The credit union lobby will be closed.
In accordance with the recommendations of the Arlington Independent School District the Mount Olive Child Development Center will be closed at the end of the business day Friday, March 20 until further notice.
During this period of social distancing and limited contact; the church will still host funerals for families who are in bereavement during these times. However, we ask that no more than ten (10) are in attendance (no wakes, no repast at the church). In lieu of the attendance restrictions, the church will livestream the service on the church's website with the family's consent. Viewing may be done via livestream up to one (1) hour before the funeral is scheduled to begin. The church will send food to the bereaved family. This done per the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control that people should stay home unless they are handling essential business such as getting supplies, getting medical attention, or work for an entity that is considered an essential business during these times. While the Texas Executive Order GA-14 considers churches to be an "essential business" we are limiting the number of attendees in the facility including staff and personnel. In all places social distancing should be practiced for the benefit of their community. This is also the recommendation of the National Funeral Directors Association. With the family’s consent, we will Livestream the service. The Pastor will address any extenuating circumstance as appropriate.
All hospital visits have been cancelled until further notice. The ministerial staff may reach out, if requested by the person or immediate family, over the phone to offer prayer and support.
All spiritual counseling will be remotely performed, either via Face Time, Zoom, or telephone until further notice. Please call the church office to set up a time for counseling.

What Can You Do To Protect Yourself and Your Community?
We would also like to encourage those members who have traveled outside of the country within the past three weeks to please refrain from coming to the worship service until you have been self-quarantined for at least two weeks (per the Center for Disease Control recommendations) and / or cleared by a medical physician.
Follow the guidelines posted by the Center for Disease Control such as;
- Washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds;
- Using hand sanitizer when soap and water is not available;
- Not touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands;
- Avoiding close contact with people who are sick;
- Staying home if you are sick;
- Covering your cough or sneeze;
- Disinfecting objects and surfaces regularly.
We would also ask that you would refrain from using tips provided through social media outlets as some have taken this serious situation to post false information while posing as a reliable source. Please go to the Center for Disease Control or World Health Organization for the latest information and updates regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Our position is that we are to be faithful and not fearful. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7) We would also like to advise our church family to be calm but vigilant as we exercise an abundance of caution in the wake of this international pandemic.
“The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.” Numbers 6:24 – 26
We will continue to update this page as further details develop.
